Invitation to a wedding - part 1

If there is a place where you can be absolutely elegant that is a wedding.

The couple that invited you will cherish the photos of their wedding forever and you will be in some of them, making the frame to their day even more beautiful.Being elegant that day, it's a sign of respect to the bride and groom and it will give you a chance to wear something amazing and show off a bit...why not?

No matter what they say and how many times fashion changes, white or black dresses are not proper...just any other color it's fine, but white is for the bride and black makes no sense at all at a wedding. If you are wearing a white and black Chanel style dress that is different though: the two colors together are always elegant and timeless.

For men, it’s pretty simple to look good at a wedding: wear a suit, a white shirt and a silver (like the Gucci one in the photo below) or blue tie and you will look fantastic!
Choose the color of the suit that better goes with your skin color: I personally don't like suits with stripes (I never saw anyone looking good with that style of suit and it reminds me so much of the God Father), so yes to the dark blue, dark brown, dark gray (or light gray if it's Spring/Summer time) and if you look good in black, it's ok for you to wear it that day with a light blue shirt or any pastel color that makes your eyes shine.

Here below some of my favorites:

This is not the time to wear a silly looking tie (save it for the Christmas party!), but you can pick a fancy belt if you like and some very fashionable shoes if you want to stand out (like the iconic burgundy Church’s here below) and you will look polished, posh but not too serious.

As I wrote for the ladies, no white suit that day for men either, unless you are the groom and your bride asked you to wear white (if she did though, try to convince her that it's not a very good idea...in my opinion, it's a bad color for a man suit and for some reason it makes a man look less of a man on the day that he is supposed to look as a knight in shining armour).

This one is a favorite: pink chiffon dress with delicate white flowers prints. So light and fresh looking! It comes from a boutique in Padova, Italy and my mother and sister in law bought it for me for a wedding! They couldn't chose a better dress!

This other one I selected is a goldish long dress from a boutique in Damascus, Syria: it is elegant and very fashionable this year (gold and silver are in, but if you pick a dress like this, you don't need jewelry and your shoes and clutch need to be sober and definitely monochrome).

This below is a dust of roses pale pink with navy blue hand stitched feathers top from Anthropologie: very classy with shining Swarovski earrings and a lovely hair updo.

These shoes are fabulous and will be just the most brilliant choice!
Prada Nude Suede Cutout platform sandals:

The suit is Armani (and Armani is to men suits, like Van Gogh is to Art): great choice for Spring or Summer. Perfect with a white shirt. The tie, almost the same color as the suit looks good, but you can also pick something light blue or blue and look just as superb!

This other dark grey suit is a Zegna suit: polished and classy for every occasion actually. Absolutely the perfect cut! And yes, if you want to be a bit trendy, a red polka dots tie will make you stand out at the wedding! If you do wear a similar tie to this one, please wear black shoes: don’t mix too many colors.

Another suit that I love on a man is this dark blue Paul Smith suit, great on a young and tall looking men:
